• It is vital that we fulfil a role until certain elements of the project have been successfully delivered and then we recruit our replacement
• There is a role that has been challenging to fulfil and we have people who could plug the gap until a permanent solution can be identified
• There is a role that needs to be filled quickly and we need to hit the ground running.  This puts less pressure on the recruitment process and enables the right candidate to be appointed.
• There is a role that is only required for a certain amount of time – so we carry out the work and then leave
